Bring M&S, Boots, Starbucks to Lydney

The Issue

Lydney is a growing town with huge potential, but our retail options are falling behind what local residents actually need and want.

Many people in Lydney currently travel to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol, Newport, and surrounding areas just to access basic high street stores such as Marks & Spencer, a larger Boots, and Starbucks. This means thousands of pounds are leaving our town every single week—money that could and should be staying within our local economy.

We are calling for stronger retail investment in Lydney, specifically the introduction of a Marks & Spencer Foodhall and Clothing store, a larger Boots store, and a Starbucks.

These businesses would not only improve convenience for local residents, but they would also create more jobs, increase footfall in the town centre, attract visitors from surrounding areas, and encourage further investment into Lydney’s future.

Lydney has the right demographic for these businesses—working professionals, families, commuters, young people, and residents who value quality, convenience, and trusted high street brands. As the town continues to grow, our shopping opportunities should grow with it.

A Marks & Spencer would provide quality food and clothing options that many residents currently travel elsewhere for. A larger Boots would improve access to healthcare, beauty, and essential everyday shopping. Starbucks would create a strong social and lifestyle hub for residents, visitors, and younger generations.

This is about more than just shops—it is about improving the town centre, strengthening the local economy, creating opportunities, and making Lydney a place people are proud to live, work, and visit.

We believe Lydney deserves better retail opportunities and stronger investment for the future.

Please sign this petition to show your support for bringing Marks & Spencer, a larger Boots, and Starbucks to Lydney.

Together, we can help make this happen.
