Bring GoodSAM to Queensland: Integrate GoodSAM Responder Alerts Into Triple Zero (000)

The issue

Summary

When a cardiac arrest happens, every second counts. Queensland needs the GoodSAM Responder system integrated into Triple Zero (000) — just like Victoria, New Zealand, and the UK. GoodSAM alerts trained nearby responders to start CPR or use an AED before paramedics arrive. This saves lives.

Full Petition Text

We, the undersigned, call on the Queensland Government and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to integrate the GoodSAM Responder System into the state’s Triple Zero (000) emergency dispatch network.

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is one of Queensland’s most time-critical medical emergencies. Survival drops by 7–10% for every minute without CPR or defibrillation. In many cases, the nearest trained responder is only a street away—but they are never notified.

GoodSAM solves this.

It instantly alerts trained local responders when a cardiac arrest is reported to emergency services. This system is already successfully saving lives in:

Victoria (integrated with Triple Zero since 2018)

New South Wales

New Zealand

The UK National Health Service (NHS)

Canada and the United States

It’s time for Queensland to adopt this proven, life-saving technology.

Our Requests

We ask the Queensland Government and QAS to:

1. Integrate the GoodSAM Responder System into the Triple Zero (000) dispatch platform.

2. Launch a statewide recruitment drive for trained responders.

3. Increase AED registration and mapping with GoodSAM.

4. Provide transparent public reporting on activations and outcomes.

Why This Matters

Early CPR and defibrillation are the single biggest predictors of survival. GoodSAM increases both dramatically. Other states and countries are already saving lives with it — and Queenslanders deserve nothing less.

Call to Action

Support this campaign, sign the petition, and help bring GoodSAM to Queensland.

When seconds count, GoodSAM saves lives.
