Destiny 1 released on 9th September 2014, and was the first new IP for game studio Bungie in almost 5 years.

Leading up to the release and shortly after, it was promised that this would be a platform for the following 10 years, they would build upon and develop. Many of the developers responsible for the key components of the Halo series were also in charge of the same elements within Destiny, and you can feel that design cohesion between the titles. That expertly crafted gunplay, world building and sound design.

Less than 3 years after its release, Destiny 1s live service was brought to a close and Destiny 2 was released. Although the Red War story overall was a success and the game improved the Destiny formula in multiple ways, there are just too many things that in the opinions of many, Destiny 1 did better.

With Destiny 1 having been released only on legacy consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as previous gen consoles like Xbox One and PS4, it missed out on a PC release and cross-platform play like Destiny 2 or most games have today. It did also not receive a "next gen upgrade" update like many other games across the industry had received. And in my opinion, is a crying shame.  

Destiny 1 definitely could benefit from a PC release today and next gen upgrades like cross-play. If we look at an actual 10 year live service game like For Honor, they released cross play fairly recently and it is boosting the games population, playability and enjoyment as time goes on.

Bungie has many incentives to bring Destiny 1 back, and i hope this petition can create enough noise for them to more carefully consider it.
