The Issue

I’m Sameer Reza — an actor and nostalgic fan. Corus Entertainment, a TV network company that must deserves to bring back the Nostalgic fan favorite channels and shows all across Ontario and Canada.

Over the past months, I’ve been working on a petition to save our favorite iconic Canadian kids channel networks, saving Corus Entertainment from going bankrupt, bringing back Nelvana studios, boosting up the advertising revenue, and bring back the fan favorite Corus Entertainment content — proudly Canadian and deeply community and locally-focused.

As you can see, since 2023-2025, Corus Entertainment runs into a couple of problems and struggling financially which they are:

1) Treehouse TV and YTV doesn't have anymore Nickelodeon/Nick Jr programming right now due to financial pressure and challenging revenue boosting within Corus Entertainment and it's been defunct on September 1st, 2025

2) YTV doesn't have any Nickelodeon programming due to the Nickelodeon Canada channel being axed

3) Treehouse TV doesn't have any Nick Jr shows as well due to the Nickelodeon Canada channel also being axed too

4) On August 18, Corus announced that they would no longer distribute Nickelodeon programming on both YTV and Treehouse, and that all Nickelodeon programming would be removed from both channels permanently on the same day the Nickelodeon channel shut down.

5) On August 25, 2025, WildBrain announced that it was unable to renew its carriage agreements with Bell TV & Rogers Cable, and announced plans to close all of its specialty channels (including Family) in the near future, stating that the decline of its carriage agreements meant the channels no longer had most of their value and were "no longer commercially viable".Television providers later reported that the closure would take effect at the end of the broadcast day of October 22, 2025.

6) Treehouse TV hardly has live-action programming, segments, seasonal holiday-themed shows, special presentations, movies, and interstitials on it and instead, it's filled with Batwheels, Bugs Bunny Builders, and Curious George (which by the way, it doesn't belong here and it's should be happier in Boomerang Canada and PBS KIds), which it's upsetting for a lot of TV viewers

7) YTV hardly has live-action programming, segments, seasonal holiday-themed shows, special presentations, and movies on it and instead, it's filled with Looney Tunes Cartoon, Teen Titans Go, The Amazing World of Gumball, and The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball from Cartoon Network (which by the way, no offense, it doesn't belong here and it's should be happier in Boomerang Canada and Cartoon Network Canada too) which it's also upsetting for a lot of TV viewers as well too

8) Nickelodeon Canada, YTV, and the Treehouse TV's annoucers for the up next segments and bumpers have been slowly phased out, due to financial problems as well.

9) Treehouse TV had DVDS, videos, merchandise, Corus Entertainment based apps (Treehouse TV, YTV, Nickelodeon), live shows (owned by Corus Entertainment), and many more Treehouse TV content on it, but it's been slowly ceased off due to financial issues and it's always online streaming services

10) In April and summer 2023, Corus fired Spencer, Melony, and Kelsey, all hosts (present and the past) of YTV's The Zone due to cuts from Corus CEO Doug Murphy; therefore, program jockeys were dropped. Currently, The Zone is unhosted.

11) Both YTV, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Treehouse TV websites doesn't have anymore games, Treehouse TV, YTV, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel video libraries, printables, contests, parents section, and much more, which it's upsetting and there's too many changes.

As you can see, Corus Entertainment faces a significant risk of going into debt. Your support would be valuable in helping them mitigate this risk.

My goal is simple:

✅  Increase the popularity of Treehouse TV.

✅ Increase the popularity of YTV.

✅ Relaunch the Nickelodeon Canada channel.

✅ Corus Entertainment must renew it's deal with Paramount Global now Paramount Skydance Corporation to bring back Nickelodeon Canada and Nickelodeon/Nick Jr programming to YTV, Treehouse TV, and Nickelodeon

✅ Do a relaunch of Family Channel Canada

✅ Convince a lot of Canadian and international citizens to partake in the petition

✅ Bring back and rehire the members of the Corus Entertainment company (employees, CEOS, CFOS, e.t.c)

✅ Invest as much money as you can to save Nelvana studios from getting defunct and do a grand reopening for Nelvana Studios (Nelvana, A Corus Entertainment Company)

✅ Bring back the fan favorite Treehouse TV and YTV shows on the timeslots and remove Looney Tunes Cartoon, Teen Titans Go, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, Batwheels, Bugs Bunny Builders, and Curious George off of it for good.

✅ Improve and reverting the Treehouse TV, YTV, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel websites and fix it by adding (games, Treehouse TV, YTV, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel's video library, videos, printables, contests, and the parents section titled "Treehouse Parents", "Nickelodeon Parents", "YTV Parents", and "Corus Parents").

✅ Relaunch YTV's The Zone and rehire the program jockeys.

✅ Organize some fundraiser events/telethon to raise some money to help Corus Entertainment and Nelvana

✅ While Corus Entertainment and Nelvana benefit from donations that help boost their revenue and attract more viewers, Corus also needs to renew its rights to rebroadcast Nickelodeon programming. This includes not only the branded channel but also other related content.

✅ Restock the Treehouse TV, YTV, and Nickelodeon content by making more new DVDS, books, videos, merchandise, live shows (owned by Corus Entertainment, Nelvana, e.t.c) and many more Treehouse TV, YTV, and Nickelodeon content.

✅ Corus Entertainment must renew its rights to broadcast Nickelodeon programming on both YTV, Treehouse TV, the return of Nickelodeon Canada, TeenNick Canada (new channel)

✅ Invest as much money as you can to save Corus Entertainment and Nelvana by boost up it's advertising revenue.

✅ Do a mixture of both online streaming services and DVDs for Corus Entertainment, i.e. (Every Corus Entertainment content and past apps should be on the App Store, Google Play Store, Apple TV, Google TV).

— Sameer Reza, Corus Entertainment, Canadian Radio-television and Tele-communications Commission (CRTC) & Team

I have fond memories of the shows I used to watch on Treehouse TV. Some of my favorites included Roll Play, Trucktown, 3rd & Bird, Waybuloo, Toopy & Binoo, Go Jetters, some shows from Nick Jr., Mr. Maker, The Wiggles, and many more (excluding Caillou, which we found to be potentially harmful and a bad influence).

This channel offered a wide variety of content, including programs and their Interstitials like Toopy & Binoo Vroom Vroom Zoom, This Is Daniel Cook, Splash'N Boots, This Is Emily Yeung, This Is Scarlett & Isaiah, and 4 Square. It also featured live-action programming produced by Treehouse TV and Corus Entertainment, including specials, movies, and presentations, often incorporating the Treehouse TV annoucers that were a regular part of the channel's lineup, including the descriptive video narrations.

Unfortunately, quality children's television shows and nostalgic media have been replaced, leaving current and future generations with fewer opportunities to enjoy these timeless classics from 2011-2015. The content has become somewhat repetitive, featuring an overreliance on short 5-minute episodes of Peppa Pig, Bugs Bunny Builders, Batwheels, and Curious George (which do not belong in the channel's programming and would be better suited elsewhere, such as PBS Kids & Cartoon Network), Treehouse TV's annoucers for the up next segments and bumpers have been slowly phased out, and Nickelodeon Canada has been shuttered since September 1st, 2025. This has resulted in a lack of the variety and fresh content that the channel previously offered.

Treehouse TV was known for its distinctive programming, which offered both educational and entertaining content. Research suggests that varied television exposure benefits children's cognitive development by stimulating creativity and learning.

Treehouse TV, a Canadian channel created and produced by Corus Entertainment, Nelvana Studios, and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), focuses on a limited range of children's programming. This selective approach, while potentially appealing to a specific audience, may limit development opportunities for viewers seeking a wider range of options.

Let's work together and do our parts to bring back shows such as Roll Play, 3rd & Bird, Waybuloo, Toopy & Binoo, Trucktown, Mister Maker, The Wiggles, Toopy & Binoo Vroom Vroom Zoom, This is Scarlett & Isaiah, 4 Square, bring back the Nick Jr shows, keep some Peppa Pig episodes on the morning & afternoon timeslots, it's Treehouse TV movies and presentations, produced and owned by Corus Entertainment (with described video), improving the Treehouse TV bumpers and announcers to the Treehouse TV channel, reviving the Treehouse TV and YTV websites that has games, Treehouse TV video Library, printables, contests, and much more. We're seeking to reinstate diverse and engaging children's programming that supports their mental and emotional development. We're hoping and kindly requesting if Corus Entertainment, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, Nelvana Studios, and Treehouse TV will consider reinstating these beloved, nostalgic shows on their broadcasting schedule.

Our past programming is valuable and should be preserved. We believe that the beloved shows "Treehouse TV", "YTV Canada", and Nickelodeon Canada deserve to be brought back on the airwaves. This would help make these Canadian channels more trending and popular. We are asking for your support in signing this petition to make this happen.
