Bring Back Roblox in Kuwait: A Call for Education, Safety, and Opportunity

Bring Back Roblox in Kuwait: A Call for Education, Safety, and Opportunity
The Issue
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the authorities in Kuwait reconsider the recent ban on Roblox. While the safety of children online is a priority we all share, we believe this ban may create more problems than it solves.
Why the Ban Hurts More Than It Helps
Roblox is rated 12+ on the App Store and includes robust parental controls, content filtering, and reporting systems. By banning Roblox entirely, children may turn to less regulated, potentially unsafe platforms without such safety measures in place. Instead of protecting children, the ban risks pushing them toward environments with fewer safeguards and oversight.
Parental supervision is key. Just as parents guide their children’s TV viewing, social media use, and real-world activities, they can—and should—take responsibility for monitoring what their children do online. Roblox provides tools for exactly this purpose, including parental PINs, time limits, and account restrictions. Rather than a blanket ban, educating parents on how to use these features would be a far more effective solution.
Roblox as an Educational Tool
Roblox is not “just a game.” It is a platform where children and teenagers learn valuable real-world skills:
Programming and Game Development: Through Roblox Studio, players create games using the Lua coding language, gaining experience in problem-solving and logic.
Entrepreneurship: Many young developers learn how to monetize their creations, teaching them business principles and financial literacy at an early age.
Creativity and Design: From building 3D worlds to designing virtual clothing, Roblox encourages innovation and imagination.
These are the skills of the future—coding, digital design, entrepreneurship—that Kuwait’s youth could use to excel in technology and business sectors.
Economic Impact
Roblox is a source of legitimate income for thousands of developers worldwide, including many here in Kuwait. Some earn part-time money; others make full-time incomes. By banning Roblox, we are closing the door on young creators who depend on this platform for both learning and livelihood.
With the global digital economy growing rapidly, Kuwait should be empowering young talent, not restricting platforms that help develop it.
A Better Way Forward
Instead of banning Roblox entirely, we propose:
Parental Education Campaigns – Teaching families how to use Roblox’s parental controls, time limits, and safety features.
School-Based Digital Literacy Programs – Helping students understand online safety, responsible gaming, and healthy screen time habits.
Age-Appropriate Guidelines – Ensuring parents have the tools to restrict access for younger children while allowing older kids and teens to benefit from the platform.
Our Request
We understand and share the concern for child safety online. But banning Roblox eliminates opportunities for creativity, education, and income, while failing to address the root problem: the need for digital literacy and parental involvement.
We urge the authorities to lift the ban on Roblox and instead focus on empowering parents and students with the knowledge and tools to use the platform responsibly and safely.
Please sign this petition to support education, creativity, and opportunity for Kuwait’s youth. Let’s work together to bring back Roblox in a way that keeps children safe while preparing them for the future.
