Prince Charming is a character from the Shrek franchise who first appeared in "Shrek 2" and then in "Shrek the Third." In the second movie, he was a supporting villain while in the third movie, he became the main villain. He's one of my favorite characters from the franchise! Long adored as a captivating villain, there are aspects of Prince Charming's story that are shrouded in mystery, leaving me yearning for answers. What exactly was he the prince of? How did he earn his title when his mother, The Fairy Godmother, wasn't a queen? And most intriguingly, what happened to his father? Not only that but he was absent in "Shrek Forever After." I'm very curious to know what happened to him after the events of the third movie!

Charming was a significant character in "Shrek 2 and "Shrek the Third" yet his character arc remains incomplete. A beloved character in his own right, he deserves more than just a spot in our memories. As the Shrek franchise evolves, offering fresh narratives and rekindling old tales, there's no better time to explore new storylines that delve deeper into our favorite characters’ pasts.

However, Dreamworks recently announced Shrek 5 scheduled for release in 2027! This is the beginning of many possible new opportunities for the beloved Franchise! While I'm very excited about Shrek 5, I'm not totally sure if DreamWorks will actually include Prince Charming. If he does end up being absent again, then I really think they should bring him back in any possible upcoming Shrek or Shrek related projects. Why not give Prince Charming the chance to shine on his own, perhaps in a standalone movie that explores his background?

Such a comeback would surely captivate audiences old and new, as those familiar with the Shrek series eagerly return to witness the continuation and expansion of its enchanted world. A new film focusing on Prince Charming wouldn’t just be entertaining—it would address unanswered questions and inconsistencies that had previously gone unnoticed.

We, the fans, have been loyal to the Shrek series for years, enjoying the laughter and lessons each installment has brought us. In 2027, another chapter begins, and our voices should be heard. Let us rally together to tell DreamWorks how much Prince Charming means to us and how essential his return is for an even richer Shrek universe.
