Bring Back Kohinoor

The Issue

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is offering prayer at Devi Bhadrakali temple at Warangal, Telangana India.

The temple of Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal was built in 7th century.

It is believed that Kohinoor, one of the world's largest cut diamonds, originally belonged to the crown of this Goddess.

The temple was looted and destroyed by Allauddin Khilji in early 14th century

Allauddin Khilji's court poet Amir Khusrau in his  Khazain Ul-Futuh( "treasures of victory") describes with glee how Allauddin Khilji destroyed temples & looted valuables from temples in South India.

Khusrau was totally awestruck by  such diamonds as never seen or heard before.

Looted from Bhadrakali temple, the diamond Kohinoor was later seized by  Mughals and ultimately usurped by British

Today, the Kohinoor diamond lies in the crown of Queen Of England. The crown is estimated to be worth $10-12 billion.

Devi’s temple, which is situated on a hill between Hanamakonda & Warangal, was built in 625 CE by Pulakeshin II of Chalukya dynasty to celebrate his win over Vengi region of Andhra desha, as per an inscription inside the temple.

The Kohinoor diamond originally belonged to Devi & was set as her eye. It was during the 2nd attack on Warangal fort (1309) that Malik kafur, failing to get the fort, launched the deadliest attack on surrounding villages, when Prataprudra was forced to offer the diamond as truce.

The Bhadrakali diamond (later named as Kohinoor by Nadir Shah), is believed to have come with a curse-“he who owns this diamond will own the world, but will also know all its misfortunes. Only God or woman can wear it with impunity.”

For 500 years after its removal from the Devi, the diamond moved between various Mongolian, Persian, Afghan, & Sikh rulers, who fought bitter & bloody wars to own it. Every king who was in possession of the diamond would ultimately lose power (if not die a horrible death).

After the British acquired it through thuggery & manipulation from Ranjit Singh’s minor heir, keeping in mind the curse, the diamond has only been worn by the Queens.

Kohinoor which is now 105 carats, was originally much larger. Queen Victoria’s husband ordered it to be re-cut.

I request Government of India specially honourable Prime Minister shri Narendra Modi to approach the UK government and do the needful procedures to bring back kohinoor diamond. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the britishers has put the kohinoor diamond in jewel house at the Tower of London. We must bring back Kohinoor diamond because this precious gem belongs to our goddess Bhadrakali.

I request all Indians to please join me in this campaign and make it successful.
