Today, Premier Brian Pallister proposed phase four of Manitoba's reopening plan. This plan includes increasing indoor gatherings to a max. of 75 and increasing outdoor gatherings to a max. of 250 people, and other details, but the most important detail of this plan is the removal of the 14-day self-isolation requirement for domestic travel.

Not only does this put Manitobans in danger, this plan puts YOU in danger. It puts your family in danger. Your children.

Brian Pallister is openly inviting others from other provinces that have dealt with extreme numbers of COVID-19 cases (mainly Quebec and southern Ontario). As we've seen in the news, Manitoba's cases are already on a slow rise due to out-of-province travel from the first 14-day self-isolation removal on June 21.

Last Monday, we had one active case. Today, we have 41. Last week, the test positive rate was 0.16%. Today, it's 1.03%

Manitoba has worked very hard to flatten the curve and this is not the time to reopen the province. There is no vaccine. This pandemic is NOT over just because we have a smaller amount of cases.

According to Bartley Kives on Twitter, this is what Pallister had to say about Manitobans being afraid of visitors from southern Ontario and Quebec without quarantine:

"Get in line," he says, imploring Manitobans not to give in to fear.

"I'm afraid, too, but I'm not going to let fear rule my life."

If this statement doesn't infuriate you and show that Brian Pallister has a disregard for the safety of Manitobans, I don't know what will.

What Manitoba has been doing has worked tremendously to keep the province safe. If we allow Manitoba to go forward with this phase four plan, we run the risk of having a second wave.

In addition to signing this petition, please fill out this survey that will tell the Manitoba government not to move forward with this phase: https://engagemb.ca/phase-four-restoring-safe-services

You also have the option to sign up for a "telephone town hall" where you can state your concerns about the new phase.

Brian Pallister is setting our province up for failure. Do not allow him to do this.
