The Issue

We are calling for a boycott of the upcoming adaptation of I Love You Since 1892.

This is about accountability, transparency, and respect for the audiences and artists who helped build this story’s legacy.

The author, Binibining Mia, gained massive support for the book’s rise in popularity through the romantic pairing of MarNella, a love team deeply embedded in the narrative’s original reception and fan base. Many supporters rallied behind the story because of MarNella’s involvement and promotion, only to be later disregarded and excluded in the show’s development. This decision is disheartening and nothing short of betrayal.

We believe this is a clear instance of using fan devotion as a stepping stone, only to be discarded when convenient. Such actions reflect a wider industry pattern where audiences are taken for granted and artists are reduced to tools for short-term hype.

This petition is a call to action for producers and networks to listen to their viewers, uphold integrity, and treat actors and fans with the respect they deserve.

We urge others to boycott the adaptation, hold Binibining Mia accountable, and support projects that uplift—not exploit—the communities that support them.
