Vote No on Extreme Anti-Build Proposal
This petition made change with 952 supporters!
Boulder has seen a lot of change these past few years, as increasing demand from companies seeking to move here (with their jobs) has led to several major projects being constructed simultaneously. We get that this kind of change is challenging. But a city that overreacts to change, by shutting off all progress toward the kind of vibrant city that can support a diversity of people, is a city that is headed in the wrong direction. It is headed toward a place that can't support the amenities it has developed over the years, and where young and creative people can't live. We believe in a smart, attractive city where people can live, work, and play. We do not believe in trying to freeze Boulder in time.
On Thursday, February 26, Council will vote on whether to decrease the maximum height for any development, almost anywhere in the city. Voters set that maximum height long ago, at 55 feet. Council will be deciding whether to cut that by almost a third, and in so doing make it nearly impossible for the city’s vision of directed density, in the right places and with the right design, to come to fruition. We urge Council to vote no on this extreme proposal.
