The self employed need more help than being directed towards the benefits system. Many self employed people are suffering massively right now. With food to buy and bills to pay, SSP is not going to come anywhere near close to being useful. Why should the government back employers to pay 80% of wages whilst the self employed have a very real possibility of bankruptcy, losing our homes, and our livelihoods. It's nothing short of discrimination! The self employed should be offered 80% of last year's turnover - Not just our profit as we still have depreciating assets and all kinds of payments to adhere to. I urge that this needs your most urgent attention at our time of need. Hundreds of thousands of taxi drivers and private hire drivers have especially been hit very hard by this crisis across the entire UK as our business is the movement of people. Our industry has effectively stopped overnight with no hope in sight.
