It is clear from ONS data that schools are an engine for Covid-19 transmission. It is self- defeating for the Government to impose a national lockdown, whilst ignoring the role of schools/colleges as a major contributor to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

I respect that Lockdown 2 is imposing immense stress on many communities / businesses however I think it is evident that Lockdown 2 would be far more effective if schools/colleges in England were included.

Sadly as many communities are experiencing, Ignoring the role of schools and colleges in the spread of the virus is likely to lead to the need for even longer or more frequent lockdowns in future.
