Boeing Knew: Tell DOJ to Investigate It for Negligence in UPS Crash That Killed 15 People
The Issue
In November 2025, a UPS cargo plane crashed and exploded near the Louisville airport, killing 15 people—three crew members and 12 people on the ground.
Now, a newly released update from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirms a chilling fact: Boeing knew about the structural flaw that led to the crash more than a decade ago.
According to the NTSB, Boeing had previously documented cracks in the same engine mounting assembly on similar MD-11 aircraft as early as 2011. But instead of issuing a mandatory safety directive, the company merely sent out a non-binding “service letter” recommending inspections every five years. They decided this flaw did not pose a “safety of flight” concern.
That decision cost lives.
Fifteen people are dead because Boeing failed to act on known risks. That’s not a design oversight—it’s corporate negligence.
This is not the first time Boeing’s internal decisions have led to tragedy. From the 737 MAX crashes to the 2024 door blowout incident, Boeing’s quality control and safety culture have been repeatedly called into question. And now, 15 more lives are gone—lives that could have been saved if action had been taken when the risk first became known.
We, the undersigned, are calling on the U.S. Department of Justice to:
- Open a criminal investigation into Boeing’s failure to act on known safety risks related to the MD-11 engine assembly;
- Determine whether corporate negligence or reckless disregard for human life played a role in the UPS crash;
- And pursue accountability for every decision that contributed to this preventable tragedy.
No corporation should be allowed to hide behind technicalities or paperwork when human lives are at stake. Boeing must be held accountable—not just in public opinion, but under the law.
Sign this petition to demand a full criminal investigation into Boeing’s role in the crash that killed 15 people in Kentucky.
