The Federal Aviation Administration is being asked to allow drones to fly in US airspace for various civilian and law-enforcement purposes. Those who are making the request, both in the private and public sectors, say that these pilotless airplanes of various sizes will help with scientific research, fighting crime and even monotoring pipelines.
