The Queensland Premier David CRISAFULLI is 'the puppeteer' who pulls the strings of his Ministers, ensures the smoke & mirrors dazzle voters & Queenslanders, all the while pushing through changes to legislation that reduces homeowners rights & increases the bank balances of government, builders & trades.
The QBCC don't have enough compliance & governance over the building industry now & by reducing the "red tape" you & your party will only ensure that we produce more unskilled trades; less than substandard building works & financial ruin for homeowners.
When issues arise, the burden won’t fall on Sam O'Connor the Housing Minister or the Premier David Crisafulli.
The impact will be felt by the :
🔴 BUILDERS
🔴 HOMEOWNERS
🔴 SUPERVISORS
🔴 CONSUMERS / TRADES
What message does the Premier send to Australian apprentices?
⚠️ The Premier hasn't provided any INVESTMENT into young Queenslanders through:
PROVIDING adequate training - FIXING retention - LIFTING site supervision
This stance is not against migration; it is in favor of:
✅ STANDARDS ✅ ACCOUNTABILITY ✅ PROTECTING THE INDUSTRY
So......
➡️ Who ensures proper verification of competency?
➡️ Who supervises newcomers on their first day?
➡️ Who assumes the RISK when quality declines?
➡️ What becomes of AUSTRALIAN trade careers and wages?
The “skills shortage” should not serve as a justification to LOWER THE BAR. If migration from overseas or over the border is treated as the primary solution rather than a last resort, we are not addressing the crisis; we are merely IMPORTING RISK.
AT WHAT COST WILL THAT RISK HAVE ON HOMEOWNERS & SKILLED WORKERS IN THE FUTURE!!
'Be the Change – QBCC Reform' is a community-driven initiative demanding legislative, procedural, and cultural changes to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). It aims is to reduce, time, cost, and health burdens on homeowners, enhance regulator accountability, and prevent "dodgy" builders from exploiting loopholes & the government allowing them to do it.
