Dear NUSD officials,

 As students attending your district, we are writing to bring to your attention a matter of great concern. We believe that the use of GoGuardian should be discontinued, as it has become invasive and caused discomfort among students. While we understand the software's purpose is to monitor online activities, it has created a sense of unease and distrust among students. We strongly believe that our right to privacy should be respected, and the use of GoGuardian undermines that fundamental right. We urge NUSD to prioritize the well-being of its students by discontinuing the use of GoGuardian.

 If our voices are not heard, the consequences of allowing GoGuardian to continue its surveillance within NUSD are grave. The normalization of constant monitoring decreases the trust between students and educators, hindering open communication and fostering a culture of fear. This could lead to students becoming hesitant to engage in online research or discussions, limiting their academic growth and stifling their creativity. Furthermore, the psychological impact of being under constant surveillance can lead to increased stress and anxiety among students, negatively affecting their mental well-being.

We urgently call on NUSD to take immediate action to remove GoGuardian and uphold the principles of privacy, trust, and a healthy learning environment for all students. We cannot afford to overlook the detrimental effects of GoGuardian on the well-being and educational experience of students in NUSD. The continued use of this intrusive monitoring software not only compromises our privacy but also undermines the trust and psychological safety essential for a thriving learning environment.

As students, we urge NUSD to prioritize our rights and well-being by taking immediate action to ban GoGuardian. It is imperative that our voices are heard, and that our concerns are addressed promptly to ensure a safe, respectful, and conducive educational setting for all students in NUSD. We hope that you will consider our concerns seriously and take appropriate action.
