I am a primary 6 pupil at Netherlee Primary and I’m also a member of the school’s eco-committee. My school sells plastic water bottles in our break time tuck shop and I think this is bad for the environment. I know other primary schools sell water too.

I know that not all of us have reusable water bottles, but we have cups and we also have water fountains all over the place. We can also borrow reusable bottles if we need them or we could even just have cups somewhere near the fountains so we can fill them up if we want to. Also water that comes from taps costs less than water bottles themselves.

The damage to the environment, the air and the oceans is getting really bad, so if we just use cups (that we can hand back to the kitchen after) then it would be much better for the planet - we are trying to save it, after all. 

I will be sending this petition to East Renfrewshire Council and would like your support in calling for a ban on bottled water in our primary schools.
