The Issue

Zero Plastic Bottle Movement in France

Nestle Outbidding Municipality

Corporations such as Nestle are monopolizing our natural water resources, packaging it in plastic bottles (which contain harmful chemicals), and creating mass waste pollution. Nestle has recently purchased a water well as a result of outbidding a small municipality (Wellington, Ontario), which attempted to keep the water supply "safe from commercial water taking". We must follow the recent environmental initiatives of some European countries, such as France. France has focused on a "zero plastic waste" water movement (Eau De Paris), implementing public water fountains from natural water sources, containing minerals that benefit our health. These fountains allow the public, including the homeless, to access readily available, safe drinking water. We need to promote reusable water bottles and discontinue bottled water production in exchange for a sustainable alternative. Water is an essential nutrient for life and needs to be available at no cost, with no plastic packaging or harmful chemicals, as nature intended it to be. Let's stand together to make a change for the earth and for the future of humanity. We need to optimize our water systems and invest in sustainable substitutes with government incentives to prevent contamination, drought, and capitalist control and distribution of drinking water. Sign this petition to contribute to a plastic waste-free future.
