She deliberately reached out to the daughter of a murder victim, not only reviving painful memories but glaringly exacerbating them. Trevino audaciously claimed that the deceased victim "deserved to die," making racist statements in the process. The damage caused by her actions extends far beyond the personal affront I have experienced.

Trevino's conduct is not an isolated incident. She has consistently demonstrated a pattern of posting content that is not suitable for platforms like TikTok, a platform used by 1 billion users worldwide, 32.5% of whom are under the age of 14 (Statista, 2021). Her blatant disregard for what is appropriate and her consistent use of offensive language is harmful to the community, particularly to audiences of younger ages who are much more impressionable.

The Internet is a powerful tool that connects us all. It's a place where we share, connect, and learn from each other. It is not a playground for those seeking to inflict pain, spread hate, or propagate racist beliefs. We therefore call upon TikTok to take urgent action against Ashley Trevino. Ban her account permanently and send a clear message that such intolerable behaviour won't be permitted on the platform.
