The purpose of this petition is to ask the E Safety Commissioner to remove "Are We Dating the Same Guy Groups" in Australia 

Private groups called 'Are We Dating the Same Guy?' are proliferating across Facebook, targeting individuals in many cities, including those right here in our area. These groups purport to be a platform for women to share information about men they are currently dating, but they often devolve into harmful and invasive gossip and hate speech.  When you demand removal of the post, the Admins of these hate groups act like judge, jury, and executioner and believe it's within their rights to refuse to remove it. After the last time I was posted by a girl who wanted to know "if I was safe," it became a sleadging match claiming "I was married with Kids", "Boring over text," among other things. No concerns around safety were discussed; these groups are just hateful and full of lies. The Burden of Proof lies on the man, not on the woman making the claim. My posts had nothing to do with safety; everything to do with defamation and opinion. 

Men are given no right to respond. No Proof of claims in these groups is required. 

For me and countless others, the thought of having our personal lives scrutinised and discussed in such an invasive manner is deeply distressing. These groups can breed false allegations, privacy violations, and outright character assassination without any accountability or verification mechanisms.

These groups can cause irrevocable damage to personal reputations, relationships, and mental health. According to recent studies, online shaming and cyberbullying can lead to severe psychological impacts, including anxiety, depression, and even trauma. Social media platforms should be spaces of trust and safety. However, when they host groups that thrive on defamation and underhanded gossip, they become vehicles for harm instead.

We cannot stand idly by while these platforms enable environments ripe for bullying and defamation. That’s why I'm calling on the E Safety Commissioner to take decisive action. We must uphold the principles of online safety and privacy. Removing 'Are We Dating the Same Guy?' groups would be a significant step in the right direction.

Concrete action from the E Safety Commissioner would involve auditing these groups for harmful content and setting regulations to ban or heavily moderate them, preventing further harm to countless individuals.
