Ask Trader Joe's to replace plastic wrapping

Ask Trader Joe's to replace plastic wrapping
The Issue
Although Trader Joe’s is a great store, has great products and claims to be to
-Gluten Free
-Vegan
-Vegetarian
-Fat Free
-Quick Meal oriented
-Kosher
-NO artificial flavors, colors or preservatives
-NO genetically modified ingredients
-NO MSG
They are still contributing to the non- green, non-recyclable and non-decomposable plastic.
As you walk through the aisles of Trader Joe's you will notice that most of their products are wrapped in plastic. Now, we know that Trader Joe's is a one of a kind store and not like the bigger Shopping Markets e.i: Vons etc. It is exactly why we are targeting this specifically and we know since Trader Joe's is a company that has "greener" products and carries one of a kind items, we would like to see changes in a store like banning plastic. As a Trader Joe's costumer i would like to see a change.
Now some of you reading this may wonder why plastic are bad? I mean true it’s a convenient way to store foods and water and the wrapping itself never rots, however that's the bad thing with plastic. If it never rots or decomposes then where does it go? The answer is our oceans. Even though we recycle, we can only reuse that plastic so many times before it becomes unusable and ends up in our ocean.
The North Pacific Gyre are 2 spots in the ocean that are filled with nothing but trash and plastic. If you ever go to beautiful Hawaii, or one of the Japanese Islands in the pacific oceans, you'll find their beaches are primarily filled with plastic, not sand. This is because the Gyres gather up the plastic, but also send some towards the Hawaiian Beaches
the picture above is just one of the many beaches within the Pacific Ocean constantly getting flooded with plastic and trash. Years ago, on Kamilo beach, Hawaii. Based on witnesses, there used to be a 10 foot high wall of trash that spanned the entire beach, thanks to several beach clean ups the have removed the large wall, but plastic and trash still washes up on the beach every day.
But Beach clean ups are only a temporary fix to the problem. The trash is still going to come, and even if we throw away the trash in a landfill, the wind can easily just blow the trash back into the ocean. The only way we can really clean up the ocean and protect the environment is by changing everything we use that's plastic to something that isn't.
Although plastic in the long run is a good because they provide technology such as pros legs and the visible parts on a car, the one use plastic like plastic bags and contains are far from good. Animals get caught in the plastic bags and they aren't able to get free so they die. The Albatross birds that live on some Pacific Islands eat fish that are on the surface on the ocean. These birds get confused by the plastic, so instead of eating fish they eat plastic instead. The plastic can’t be broken down by the bird’s stomach acid, so instead of feeding on it, the plastic literally kills them from the inside by starvation.
What we’re asking from you guys is to sign this petition so Trader Joes realizes that changing to another source and for them to stop using non decomposable plastic is going to stop contributing to the waste of plastic that is ending up in our ocean.
Instead, for them to switch to more glass usage, biodegradable plastic, bamboo materials and materials and packaging that can be recycled and biodegradable so that if that one product from Trader Joe’s ever ends up in the ocean, we can at least be conscious that these materials will be decomposed and not floating and contributing to the North Pacific gyre.
