Black man gets 60 years in prison in Jonesboro Arkansas, State had no EVIDENCE.
The Issue
On Friday, March 11th, my son, Corey McCullon, was accused and convicted of first-degree murder despite overwhelming flaws in the case. The trial was riddled with inconsistencies and unanswered questions:
One witness was caught lying on the stand, and another admitted to testifying under family pressure.
Two child witnesses gave conflicting accounts—one saying the assailant wore a mask, the other saying he didn’t.
Another witness claimed to have run past the suspect and somehow identified two gold teeth under a mask, yet that same witness said he never saw a gun.
Police failed to test critical evidence for DNA, including a cigar, a liquor bottle, and a sweater found with gunpowder residue in the yard.
There was no blood splatter, and the shoe impression on the door did not match my son’s shoes.
Despite media coverage on Jonesboro’s Kait8 for more than two years, a change of venue was never granted.
The judge—who previously worked as a prosecutor and is now up for re-election—overruled nearly every objection made by my son’s attorney.
This case was never about justice for the victim or fairness for the accused. It seems the Jonesboro police were determined to close the case quickly, regardless of the truth.
My son was sentenced to 60 years in prison with no solid evidence tying him to this crime. Please help me fight to reverse this wrongful conviction. Sixty years is far too long for a man to serve when the evidence simply doesn’t add up.https://youtu.be/WjhMeB_RKCg?si=gXeNw2-c9T3L_73V
