#NOMASKMATTERSMORE Jack can ride the schoolbus—with autism, and without a mask.

The Issue

5-year-old jack was excited to go to kindergarten, but he was very nervous. He was going to ride the school bus to school. When he was anxious to get on, his father helped him aboard. But then the bus driver asked where his mask was. Even though there were only three children on the bus, Jack Griffith was kicked off the bus. This was traumatizing to this young child who has autism. His parents had already cleared with two people from the district's transportation services that he would not have to wear one. But Jack was still denied the right to ride the bus. The bus drove away without checking to make sure Jack had gone home. Jack did go home, but soon changed his mind that he would follow the bus. He silently slipped out, and his parents quickly noticed he was gone. His mother described the feeling she had as, "instant terror." She called the police immediately to report her missing son. Jack was thankfully found by a young girl and her father safely playing by himself.

This experience was very damaging to the little boy, and he and his family (along with all children who go through what he does) deserve to be heard. Please sign this petition to get his story out and save other children from this experience.
