Andrew Steven "Andy" Biggs, born on November 7, 1958, in Tucson, Arizona, is a Republican politician and attorney representing Arizona's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University in 1982, a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona in 1984, and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Arizona State University in 1999. Before his congressional tenure, Biggs served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2003 to 2011 and the Arizona Senate from 2011 to 2017, where he was Senate President from 2013 to 2017. Known for his conservative stance, he chaired the House Freedom Caucus from 2019 to 2022. In January 2025, Biggs announced his candidacy for the 2026 Arizona gubernatorial election.
