Reg : Death due to being mowed down by Rash Driving Share a Taxi Driver in Wadala East

Respected Sir ,

A young mother of 4 children lost her life due to being mowed down by share taxi being rashly driven by young man with no licence .

Inspite of many complaints against high speed , dangerous , rash driving by Share a Taxi driver , for some strange reason there was no action being taken .

These young drivers , many of them seemed to be high on drugs and other substance would drive from opposite side of road , brazenly flout traffic rules . Jump traffic signals . Enter from No Entry Road . Overtake from Right and competitively race against each other to reach Wadala Station first to make more trips .

Most of this young drivers have no cab licence , no uniform , no identification , drive dangerously tilting to right side , playing loud music compromising on life and safety of passenger and public.

Inspite of such a grave crime and knowledge of regular hazard caused by the Share taxi drivers in the area, the police have not charged the accused with sec 304, but only 304A, which carries maximum 2years punishment.

Inspite of death caused and outrage amidst the residents , the courts were opened on a Sunday to give bail to the accused who was released on Rs 15,000.

Sir , before any further life are lost , you are requested to ensure strict action is taken against lawless driving terror by share a taxi drivers being inflicted upon residents of Dosti Acres , Wadala East.

Residents of the area have requested rubber road humps/rumblers in downslope road and where the gates of societies open to the main Dosti Acres road. Earlier too a 14 year old child was killed in the area due to a speeding vehicle.

We request to please install traffic calming measures in these areas as per IRC codes.

Importantly, we request you to kindly provide financial help to the family of 4 children left without a mother and earning member.

We request you to charge the accused with sec 304 to give full justice to the family and punish the perpetrator appropriate to the crime
