A Chinese-owned resort in Mildura that normally houses our wonderful flight students but has sat largely empty due to a lack of international students is being pitched as an alternative site for a hotel quarantine.

I do have sympathy and totally understand that some motels and hotels ect have suffered so much damage due to the lack of care and responsibility that Dan Andrews did in Melbourne with the bad hotel quarantine, but I think the community has a right to vote if this is to happen here in the SUNRAYSIA REGION.

There are to many valuable people young and old in our district to put at risk, also not to mention the hard work everyone in our region has put in to keep everyone safe.

Out tourist industry has already taken a major hit due to what Melbourne failed to do right and it has done to our country area which is 6 hours away from Melbourne. 

The location that they want to have this “hotel quarantine” is straight up from the local Mildura Specialist School which has children and adults with disabilities and also have low immune systems already.

So we as a community do we want this here and if not then we need to step up and say NO to this happening here.

Yes we need the fruit picked here as our farmers are struggling because of what MELBOURNE did wrong but what’s the point if we can’t when an outbreak happens then the fruit will be no good because will all be in lockdown and our region will be ruined big time....
