Amtrak must restore the Pioneer service to Cheyenne and Boise. Both of these cities are listed as two of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States without Intercity rail service. Completely unacceptable. Also, when the Pioneer was discontinued in 1997, It left Wyoming with no passenger rail service whatsoever. Again, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! Ever since 1997, proposals and demands have been made by locals to bring back the Pioneer. Cheyenne is the largest city in Wyoming, and Boise is the largest city in Idaho. Hence, they should BOTH have Intercity rail service. Idaho is currently served by Amtrak's Empire Builder in Sandpoint, nowhere near sufficient enough for the State of Idaho. Also, Boise is the Idaho state capital AND largest city, therefore, intercity rail service is a necessity. For these reasons, the Pioneer MUST be restored IMMEDIATELY! It should run from Denver, Colorado to Portland, Oregon.
