The upheavel of the Egyptian population is a sure sign that change is needed and that they have had enough of the corrupt régime in place.

Egyptians are generally calm and peace-loving, anyone who has spent time there knows that. SO their reaction, inspired by Tunisia, indicates a momentous change in being enacted, one which is too long overdue. The real question is in what direction...

America should encourage, by whatever means possible, a definite change in a short lapse of time. No talk of transition : there can not be one.

Without this type of intervention, more radical solutions will probably set in. Then it will be harder to use Egypt as a pivotal hub in mid-east negotiatins.

This time to act is now. Get off then fence and intervene!
