We, the undersigned residents of Lane County and surrounding communities, oppose any public subsidies, tax breaks, or financial incentives for the proposed warehouse near Eugene Airport—widely believed to be an Amazon facility.

Amazon's agent is in the permitting process to see if the farmland is viable for a warehouse complex. The farmland has been brought into the Urban boundary already, so that hurdle was an easy one. This warehouse will be detrimental to the wetlands, slow down emergency access routes, and add more air pollution with hundreds of vehicles coming and going from the site and cargo planes flying into the airport. Not surprisingly, it has advanced through a permitting process that lacked transparency and community input.

Amazon is a trillion-dollar corporation. It does not need our public funds. We call on Lane County Commissioners, Eugene City Council, and all relevant agencies to:

Deny any tax breaks or subsidies for this warehouse project
Prioritize community well-being over corporate expansion
Let’s invest in our schools, hospitals, and local businesses—not in corporate giveaways.
