We action Lake Macquarie City Council (Council) to not approve the proposed major shared pathway route one option via Lonus Avenue, Whitebridge, and request Council seek a safer and more feasible route to connect Charlestown’s CBD with the Fernleigh Track. 

Council is proposing a major 3-metre-wide shared pathway along residential Lonus Avenue, Whitebridge to connect the existing Fernleigh Track network to the Charlestown CBD. This proposal does not consider how it will affect the properties along Lonus Avenue and interface with the activities of Whitebridge High School. Our concerns are related to: the safety and wellbeing (of both residents and track users), further congestion, noise, loss of privacy, change in neighbourhood character, level of activity and activity interference, altering the street's nature, and possible loss of property value.
