Allow straight pass on traffic lights

The issue

My daily commute has turned into a nightmare ever since a change was made to the traffic light setup at the intersection near my neighborhood. Before, I could smoothly drive through the light, but now I'm stuck in a bottleneck because there's only one lane that accommodates both left turns and straight traffic. The other lane is dedicated to right turns only. The result? It takes ages just to pass through the intersection if I'm going straight or turning left, not to mention the added frustration and wasted time.

It's not just me. Many of my neighbors and fellow commuters have expressed their dissatisfaction with this change. Every day, more and more cars pile up, causing significant traffic build-ups and pollution due to idling vehicles. This change was intended to improve traffic flow, but it has only succeeded in making an already busy intersection more congested.

It is clear that a reassessment of the traffic light configuration is needed. Allowing a separate lane or adjusting the traffic light signals to accommodate straight and left-turn traffic could significantly ease congestion. Other regions with similar issues have successfully implemented dual-purpose lanes or timed traffic lights to allow a smoother traffic flow. We could learn from these examples.

We urge the local traffic management authorities to review the current setup and take action to alleviate this unnecessary traffic congestion. By signing this petition, you can help bring our plight to their attention and push for a practical solution that benefits everyone. Join us in calling for a more efficient and sensible traffic light configuration. Please sign this petition to support a change that will improve our daily commute and the overall traffic flow in our area.
