The Issue

We need to register for our BED program next year, and facing the prospect of repeating the REMS 311 module would be an unbearable setback. It's not just about the time and effort required to retake a course we've already put our heart and soul into—the financial implications are a heavy burden, especially since we are funded by NSFAS. Supporting our education financially is already a challenge, and being forced to repeat this module would unnecessarily increase our financial burden.

This year, NWU students received 0 results on the REMS 311 module due to alleged plagiarism issues and high tuition % and just re-writing, the table content and questions,we used study guides, manuals and slides. The sudden announcement of these results has left us in distress and jeopardizes our educational future. The reasons for this outcome are not clear to the students, as the allegations of plagiarism were not evidenced with specific examples, and the impact on our academic progress has been devastating.

We respectfully ask for a second chance to resubmit our work for this module. A second resubmission would allow us to correct any misunderstandings and present original, plagiarism-free work that truly reflects our learning and dedication. This opportunity to resubmit is vital for our educational future and will prevent an unnecessary financial strain on us.

Please sign this petition to urge the University authorities and academic board at NWU to allow a second resubmission for the REMS 311 module. Your support can make a crucial difference in our academic journey and help us continue towards earning our BED degree without the shadow of past results holding us back.
