The Issue

My friend, who I consider a surrogate daughter, has been unfairly denied re-entry to the United States. Her journey has been marked by resilience and an unwavering commitment to her family and community here in Phoenix, AZ. As a DACA recipient, she has spent the vast majority of her life in the US, building a life, family, and contributing positively in a myriad of ways.

She is married to a US citizen and is the mother of two young American citizens. She has built a loving home for them, providing care and support every single day. Despite her deep ties to this country, she was denied re-entry during a hearing in Juarez after visiting there. This decision has left her family torn apart, as her husband and children are longing for her return, while she remains separated and unable to come back to the life she knows and the people she loves.

This is not just a legal matter but a humanitarian crisis that echoes in the hearts of those who know her best. Families should not be torn apart by borders, especially when the individual in question has dedicated her life to becoming an integral part of our community. We are urging the authorities to reevaluate her case with compassion and an understanding of its profound impact on her children and family.

Reuniting this family will not only restore stability and happiness to their lives but will set an example of compassion and justice for others in similar situations. Let us call upon immigration officials to reconsider this case and allow an individual who has shown her dedication to American ideals through her life and actions to return to the community that cherishes her dearly.

Sign this petition to support the re-entry application of a deserving member of our community, and help reunite a mother with her children. Each signature brings us one step closer to correcting this grave misjudgment and healing the wounds caused by their separation.
