Donald Trump won't release his tax returns, nor will he give any credible reason for not doing so. The tradition of candidates releasing their tax returns began in order to prove to the American people that the candidate they vote into the most powerful political position in the world isn't a crook. Every US Senator has been tagged by this petition, including Al Franken, Elizabeth Warren, and Lindsey Graham... All it would take to see his tax returns is a tiny change in the tax code: one line to Section 6103. This would not only apply to Donald Trump, but to all significant presidential candidates (meaning if their name appears on the ballot in 20 or more states). Americans would finally be legally granted the right to a level of transparency that we have previously only been granted due to tradition. Change the tax code.
