Petition against AIFF for the injustice doled out to Sanjay Sen (Coach of Mohun Bagan AC)

The Issue

Dear AIFF Officials, Trust all of you are doing good, are hale and hearty and must be in a cheerful mood after today's draconian judgement. But trust us, Indian football is not at all well, the system is rotting from inside and the entire world is seeing how the football governing body is sapping out its life. As a health check please do a quick check on India's FIFA ranking and how we regressed in the last 2 decades. Today as some of you decided to act as dictator in our democratic country and passed your completely biased, harsh and illogical judgement on Sanjay Sen, coach of Mohun Bagan AC, we ask you few straight on face questions. Trust you understand that you are answerable to Indian football fans and will respond back in your official capacity in responsible manner : 1) Last I heard, we do have freedom of speech in our country and law allows us to voice our opinion. We are quite eager to know, which soft corner of your big ego got hurt, when Sanjay Sen raised very pertinent observations on the state of affairs in Indian football. Was he wrong when he presented his opinion on your incompetency in scheduling the premier footballing tournament of this country? Was he wrong when he questioned your high handedness when a request was made to reschedule one match of I League between DSK and Mohun Bagan AC at Balewadi on 31st January 2016. Oh don't tell me footballers are not humans. They are dear Sirs and as the governing body the least you can do is bend back a little and tweak one or two matches so that the footballers get some breathing space. The feeling you have was the handful of dignitaries and the ticket sold for Shaan's performance was more important than the physical and mental strains that a footballer faces on such schedule. The fact that the club Mohun Bagan was going to represent India in the largest footballing arena in Asia that's ACL was inconsequential in your grand scheme of things. Infact a rival club namely DSK turned out to be more supportive and professional than you guys. Shows a lot on the way football is governed in this country 2) Now let me come to the punishment. 8 matches touch line ban + 10 lakhs of monetary penalty. Really! Is this what you call a just decision. The man (Sanjay Sen) spoke out not for the benefit of his self, but for the benefit of Indian football at large and this is how you react. The judgement smells of rotten ego of a blind dictator and not of a football governing body. The words might sound harsh but trust me that's the voice of millions of football fans in the country. And the best part is this harsh punishment comes after the coach of the erstwhile National Champions actually publicly regretted his emotional outburst. Dear Sirs, put the ego's aside and think for the real betterment of Indian football. This decision reeks of injustice and we demand an immediate roll back of the same. 3) Our third allegation against you is racism. Yes sounds funny but yes racism against Indian coaches and favouring foreign coaches. Why so? Why when Bengaluru FC (BFC) coach Ashley Westwood rants on racist remarks against East Bengal in their match in Barasat in this season of I League and East Bengal complains about the same, still no action is taken against him? Why when the same individual acts physical against Mohun Bagan support staff when Mohun Bagan played BFC in Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, no action is taken against him? The same coach foul mouths opponent team, opponent coach on multiple occasions and still walks scot-free ? Isn't it racism? Racism against the your countrymen? Last I heard dear Sirs, Britishers no longer rule our country and way back in 1947 we attained freedom after a long fight for independence. But your acts like this sometimes makes us wonder whether you still live in pre Independence era. And add insult to injury, your unjust act is against the present coach of the very club who played an important part in India's freedom struggle. It pains sir and more than the pain it breaks the backbone of Indian football and saps her soul away. If you have been able to read through this long letter , let me thank you to do atleast one thing right today. Now is the time to do the second thing right. We demand that the punishment doled out to Sanjay Sen be immediately turned null and void. If you don't like the tone of his outburst, consider that it was an emotional outbursts without any personal interest and was for the betterment of Indian football. Infact he duly apologized publicly also should go in his favour. Don't let your ego try to derail the campaign of the reigning I League Champions, demotivate and decapitate the gaffer who is leading his team to retain the national championship and also representing India in the Asian stage. We are still hopeful a part of you still bleeds for the betterment of Indian football and that part will ensure that better sense prevails on your fraternity. 4) All of us remember the fiasco in which ISL final ended in Goa on 22nd December 2015. The runners up team FC Goa didn't have the footballing Courtesy to attend the final prize distribution ceremony of your favorite baby in Indian football. There was ruckus on the ground and a premier marquee player playing in the tournament Elano was taken into a police station and had to spend considerable part of the night there. It's more than 70 days since that night Sir, may I know what action has been taken against FC Goa? If not then why the hurry against Sanjay Sen. ISL coaches like Roberto Carlos and Zico have repeatedly spoken about the incompetency of AIFF. Why there has been no actions against them ? Is it because ISL is your favorite child and I League is treated as a step child? Or is it because you are servant to the financial power of ISL. If you try and act judge then the where is your judgement here ?
