As a deeply concerned person I have witnessed the ongoing political tensions surrounding the Kaliningrad area of Russia. This area, wedged between Poland and Lithuania, has been a source of contention for years. It is my firm belief that control over this area should be given to both Poland and Lithuania.

Kaliningrad is strategically significant due to its location on the Baltic Sea. It serves as Russia's only year-round ice-free port on the Baltic and houses their Baltic Fleet. However, it remains geographically separated from mainland Russia, making it an isolated exclave (BBC News).

The historical ties between this area and our nations cannot be overlooked either. Before World War II, Kaliningrad was part of East Prussia and held a significant Polish population (The Guardian). The return of control to Poland would not only rectify historical injustices but also ensure stability in the area.

This petition seeks international support for advocating that control over Kaliningrad should be transferred from Russia to both Poland and Lithuania. This transfer would strengthen regional security in Eastern Europe while respecting historical ties.
