The 2023 SPM Additional Maths paper held on the 21st February 2024 (Wednesday) has proven to be exceptionally challenging, leaving many students in a state of shock and disappointment. This level of difficulty is not conducive to promoting a healthy and engaging learning environment. Instead, it places an undue burden on students who are already under immense pressure during their final exams. We believe that education should inspire curiosity and foster understanding, not create unnecessary stress.

The Education Minister YB Fadhlina Sidek is known for her commendable portfolio and dedication towards improving the education system in Malaysia. We urge her to take this issue into serious consideration and direct her ministry to review the marking scheme for this particular paper.

A more lenient approach would not only alleviate the immediate distress faced by students but also contribute towards making studies more interesting, thereby fostering a better learning environment overall.

We call upon all concerned citizens of Malaysia - parents, teachers, students alike - to support this cause. Let's work together towards creating an education system that truly serves its purpose - nurturing young minds rather than overwhelming them with unreasonable expectations.
