Every parent knows the fear that comes with a near-miss on their doorstep. In Stanhope Road North, Darlington, this fear is a reality we face too often. Stanhope Road North deserves to be a place that prioritizes its residents over passing traffic. Implementing a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) could be the solution we desperately need. An LTN would reduce traffic speeds and volumes, thus lowering the risk of accidents and damage to vehicles parked on the street.

The statistics are clear: LTNs have been proven to increase safety. According to studies, accidents reduce by up to 60% within LTNs. They provide a safer environment for our children and families,  and promote healthier lifestyles by making it safer to walk and cycle.
