Advocate for Enhanced Parental Rights and Powers in Ontario's Education System

The Issue

Since 1998, Ontario has seen a shift towards centralizing power in the hands of the Minister of Education, further exacerbated by recent amendments through Bill 98. This governance model restricts our ability to advocate for critical educational aspects such as curriculum development, free speech for parents and trustees, anti-bullying strategies, hunger alleviation, and academic outcomes.

Fostering strong relationships with school leadership is an essential component of effective advocacy. However, advocating for Parents Rights doesn’t stop at school council or delegating in front of a board - it means correcting the academic governance structure that limits Parent voice and power.

The Education Reform movement signifies the importance of structural governance reforms that will further expand legislated parental rights and powers in all matters related to education. It is time we address this issue head-on by advocating for changes at both local school boards as well as provincial levels.

We need your help to make this change possible. By signing this petition, you are supporting efforts to restore balance within our educational system by enhancing parental rights and powers - ensuring every child receives quality education they deserve.

Please sign this petition today to support enhanced parental rights within Ontario's educational system!
