The issue

My family and I live near the Goodman Ledger Park wastewater pump station, and the smell has become unbearable. What started as a faint odor over time has intensified, turning into a pervasive stench that permeates homes and disrupts our daily lives. It's a sad reality that we can no longer open our windows to let in fresh air, feeling claustrophobic and trapped inside our own homes.

The situation has reached a point where it's not just a matter of inconvenience but a genuine health concern. Many of us, including children and the elderly, are experiencing symptoms like headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues. Medical professionals have even raised concerns about long-term effects of constant exposure to these odors.

This problem affects not just the residents but also our visitors and the overall impression of our beautiful community. We are worried that, if left unaddressed, this could lead to a decrease in property values and deter others from visiting our area.

It is imperative that the local authorities, including the council/ sanitation department and environmental agencies, take immediate action to rectify this situation. We propose immediate relocation of the pump station away from residential properties and public recreational areas. Independent air quality monitoring in surrounding streets and within the park, with public reporting of results. Formal assessment of operational practices and mitigation measures. Clear timelines for corrective action until relocation occurs.

We urge local representatives to prioritize this issue and work with engineers and experts to develop lasting solutions for the Goodman Ledger Park wastewater pump station. By signing this petition, you are supporting a healthier and more livable community for all of us. Let's come together to demand cleaner air and a better quality of life. Please sign and share this petition to bring about the much-needed change.
