My family and I live near the Goodman Ledger Park wastewater pump station, and the smell has become unbearable. It's a sad reality that we can no longer open our windows to let in fresh air, feeling claustrophobic and trapped inside our own homes.

The situation has reached a point where it's not just a matter of inconvenience but a genuine health concern. Many of us, including children and the elderly, are experiencing symptoms like headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues. Medical professionals have even raised concerns about long-term effects of constant exposure to these odors.

It is imperative that the local authorities, including the council/ sanitation department and environmental agencies, take immediate action to rectify this situation. We propose immediate relocation of the pump station away from residential properties and public recreational areas. Independent air quality monitoring in surrounding streets and within the park, with public reporting of results. Formal assessment of operational practices and mitigation measures. Clear timelines for corrective action until relocation occurs.
