PETITION TO THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE: ALLOCATION OF ADDITIONAL MUNICIPAL ICE TIME
WHEREAS ice sports, specifically referring to

minor local league hockey with Hespeler Minor Hockey Association provide vital physical, mental, and social benefits to the residents of Cambridge;
WHEREAS current local ice time allocation fails to meet the growing demands of our community, forcing user groups to practice at late, inconvenient hours or heavily limiting access to recreational skaters;
WHEREAS maximizing the utilization of our community arenas fosters youth development, active lifestyles, and family engagement;
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, petition the City of Cambridge Council and the Community Services Department to take the following actions:
Increase overall ice time available to local league hockey with Hespeler Minor Hockey Association during prime-time hours.
Review and optimize the current ice allocation policy to ensure fairness and transparency in scheduling across all city-run arenas.
Explore avenues to extend ice seasons or increase facility hours to accommodate unmet community demand.
