We, users of the FreeStyle Libre system, respectfully request that Abbott Diabetes Care implement a feature for manual glucose calibration in the FreeStyle Libre 3 app (and LibreLink).

Many people with diabetes report significant discrepancies between sensor readings and actual blood glucose levels, especially during the first few days of sensor wear. These inaccuracies can lead to incorrect treatment decisions, hypo- or hyperglycemia, and reduced confidence in the device.

Competing continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, such as Dexcom, already offer manual calibration options, allowing users to adjust readings based on verified fingerstick tests.

Adding manual calibration would empower users to fine-tune their glucose data, improve accuracy in critical moments, and increase the safety and reliability of FreeStyle Libre products.

We believe that Abbott, as a global leader in diabetes care, has the opportunity to take this step forward by listening to its users and prioritizing both accuracy and patient safety.
