Lack of Transparency: The absence of detailed feedback regarding the nature of infractions makes it difficult for players to understand and correct their behavior. This lack of transparency contributes to frustration and helplessness.

Impact on Personal Well-being: For some players, Call of Duty: Warzone serves as a crucial source of social interaction, particularly during challenging periods such as illness or isolation. The frequent and seemingly arbitrary chat bans have led to feelings of isolation and victimization.

Game Rating Discrepancy: The game is rated "PEGI 18," "Mature 17+," or similar ratings in various regions, including MA15+ in Australia, 16 in Brazil, VM14 in Italy, 18 in South Korea, and M in the United States. Despite this, the game includes graphic content, such as a finishing move involving pouring gasoline on a downed opponent and then ignite it with a lighter watching them burn to death in horiffic agony, while discussions about going outside for a “fag” which is common slang in many regions outside the U.S. result in severe penalties. This discrepancy underscores a disconnect between the game’s content rating and its moderation practices.

Persistent Cheating and Hacking: Despite ongoing issues with cheating and hacking in the game, there appears to be insufficient action taken to address these problems effectively. The prevalence of cheaters undermines the integrity of the game and the enjoyment of honest players. The lack of robust measures to combat cheating is a significant concern for us.

Neglect of Game Development in Favor of Microtransactions: We have observed that Activision seems to focus almost entirely on microtransactions and monetization strategies rather than investing in meaningful game development and improvements. This emphasis on revenue generation at the expense of addressing critical gameplay issues, including chat moderation and anti-cheat measures, has led to a decline in the overall quality and enjoyment of the game. This approach is disheartening for long-time fans who have supported the franchise for years.

We respectfully request that Activision address the following areas to improve the overall gaming experience:

Clear Criteria for Chat Bans: Provide specific guidelines and examples of language or behavior that will trigger chat bans, allowing players to understand and avoid potential infractions.

Fair and Transparent Enforcement: Review and adjust the current moderation system to ensure fair and consistent application of chat bans. Implement measures to address discrepancies in enforcement.

Improved Communication: Offer detailed feedback to players about the nature of their infractions to help them adjust their behavior accordingly.

Balanced Moderation: Reevaluate moderation practices to align with the game's content rating and ensure that chat bans are proportionate to the context of conversations.

Enhanced Anti-Cheat Measures: Implement more effective anti-cheat solutions and improve monitoring systems to reduce the prevalence of cheating and hacking. Ensure that these measures are continuously updated to address emerging threats.
