I believe that all children should be entitled to holidays, yet some parents like myself cannot afford the extortionate prices during school holidays. Being able to take a holiday is good for your mental health and wellbeing, therefore children should not be penalised for this. Current legislation imposes fines on parents who take their children out of school during term time, which disproportionately affects families with limited financial resources. Studies have shown that family vacations can enhance children's development and strengthen family bonds (American Psychological Association). It is unjust to punish families seeking affordable vacation options.

School fines for taking children on holiday should be abolished because they can create unnecessary stress and financial burden on families. With the increasing demands of modern life, families deserve flexibility and autonomy to make decisions about their own schedules, including taking holidays during school breaks.
