A wrongful conviction due to police cover-up and corruption

The Issue

As an American citizen, this petition should be signed because there are too many people in prison that have been wrongfully convicted. This is a case of Official Oppression concerning police cover-up and corruption. Too many officials think that they are above the law and do things that affect peoples lives. My grandfather, Adolph Schwartz has been in prison for 43 years and is serving a life sentence because he has been denied many times to have his case heard on factual evidence. Here is a little background on the case that has led to where we are now. In 1968, Adolph's older brother Charles talked Adolph into doing a burglary with a guy named Seeley. Little did anyone know, Charles was working with the Philadelphia Police to set Seeley up because he had killed a cop the previous year, so the police wanted to avenge the killing of that police officer. The burglary turned into a robbery and the police showed up. Shots were fired between Seeley and the police. the results ended with two lives taken, Police Officer William Lackman and Felon Seeley. Adolph along with others were charged with Felony Murder. Before investigative reports were even received, Arlen Specter along with others, went out into the media claiming that Seeley had shot the officer. When the reports finally came in, everyone knew that had made a mistake and the truth was that a fellow officer accidently shot the other officer during the shoot-out.Now the District Attorney and others had a choice, to either destroy their careers or cover it up. They chose the cover up. To this day Adolph Schwartz has been fighting to get the truth out and has evidence to prove it. Please sign this petition and show these officials that it is time to stop the corruption in our system that is supposed to be just. What if this was you or your family member?
