Short Description for Change.org page

We, members of the Iranian diaspora, call on the leaders of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to clearly distinguish between the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic. We believe the current regime does not represent Iran’s history, people, or future. It has contributed to instability across the region and stands as an obstacle to long-term peace and development. We envision a future Iran that is free, stable, and committed to peaceful regional cooperation. A country that can become a strategic partner in trade, energy, technology, and development across the Middle East.

This petition reflects the voice of Iranians in exile who remain deeply connected to their homeland and committed to a peaceful future.

The Iranian Global Diaspora

In solidarity with the people of Iran,

In support of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi’s transitional democratic vision for Iran

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,
Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Your Highnesses,

The Leaders of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,

We write to you as members of the Iranian diaspora and allies, united by love for our homeland and hope for a peaceful and prosperous Middle East.

We respectfully ask you to distinguish between the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic. The regime ruling Iran does not represent our nation, our history, or our aspirations.

For nearly five decades, the Islamic Republic has exported instability, extremism, and conflict across the region. From Lebanon and Syria to Iraq and Yemen, its ideology and proxy networks have brought destruction, fear, and economic insecurity. Its hostility toward regional stability threatens not only Iranians, but the long-term prosperity of the entire Middle East.

As long as this regime remains in power, sustainable regional development will remain fragile. International investors and global markets understand the risks of coexistence with an unpredictable, expansionist ideological regime that prioritizes revolutionary survival over peace, prosperity, and cooperation.

But this is not the true face of the Iranian nation and civilisation.

Iran was once a trusted regional partner. Under the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Iran stood alongside its neighbours in support of regional security and stability. When Oman faced insurgency in the 1970s, Iranian soldiers sacrificed their lives defending a fellow regional nation. Iran once sought partnership, development, and regional cooperation, not ideological domination, terrorism, and endless conflict.

Today, many Iranians view Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi as an “experienced future” for Iran and the region : a return to stability, statehood, modernisation, and constructive partnership after decades of ideological extremism. He has repeatedly emphasised:

•  A peaceful transition,

•  A national referendum so Iranians freely choose their future form of government,

•  Secularism and the rule of law,

•  Individual liberty and economic freedom,

•  And peaceful cooperation with neighbouring nations.

Millions of Iranians have concluded that the Islamic Republic cannot be reformed. After decades of repression, censorship, executions, corruption, and violence against peaceful protesters, the Iranian people seek a free and secular Iran at peace with the world.

A free Iran would not threaten its neighbours.

A free Iran would not export militias or extremism.

A free Iran would not destabilise the region.

A free Iran would seek strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the wider region in trade, technology, energy, infrastructure, tourism, finance, and economic development.

Iran possesses enormous human and natural potential: a highly educated population, vast natural resources, and a strategic geographic location. Combined with our Arab neighbours’ investment, expertise, and regional cooperation, a free Iran could help transform the Middle East into a global centre of prosperity, innovation, technology, trade, and economic growth.

The Iranian diaspora stands ready to contribute to this future. Across the world, Iranians serve as doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, academics, financiers, scientists, lawyers, technologists, and public servants. Many of us were forced to build our lives abroad because the Islamic Republic destroyed opportunity, freedom, and hope at home. Yet despite distance and exile, we have remained deeply connected to Iran and committed to its future. As members of the Iranian diaspora signing this petition, we stand ready to return, invest, rebuild, share expertise, and help reconnect a free Iran with its neighbours and the international community.

Your Highnesses,

We respectfully urge regional leaders to:

1)  Support the aspirations of the Iranian people for a free Iran,

2)  Isolate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its financial and military networks,

3)   Reject regime propaganda and deception,

4)  Distinguish between the Iranian nation and the regime ruling it,

5)  And engage with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi preparing for Iran’s future.

Supporting the Iranian people is not only a moral choice: it is a strategic investment in the future peace, stability, and prosperity of the Middle East.

The Islamic Republic has brought war, fear, corruption, and instability.

A free Iran can bring partnership, development, security, and peace.

We invite members of the Iranian diaspora and friends of Iran to sign this letter.

Presented with respect, solidarity, and hope,

The Iranian Global Diaspora

Note: An Arabic version will be sent to the leaders of the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Note: This letter is presented as a civic statement by members of the Iranian diaspora. It does not represent any government, political party or armed faction.
