To the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), its Member States, and their Leaders,

We, the undersigned, call upon NATO—an alliance founded on the principles of democracy, liberty, and collective security—to take a bold and visionary stand in shaping humanity’s future beyond Earth.

As space becomes the next frontier for exploration and governance, we urge NATO to reject the extension of monarchical systems into the cosmos and instead endorse the creation of a Cosmic Republic rooted in republican values of freedom, equality, and self-determination.

We propose the following actions:
1. Exclusion of Monarchies from Space Governance: NATO should adopt a policy opposing the involvement of monarchical systems in space exploration and colonization, ensuring that the cosmos does not become a domain for outdated hierarchies but a realm of democratic possibility.

2. Encouragement of Republican Transitions: NATO should encourage its member states that retain monarchies—Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom—to transition peacefully and democratically into republics. 
This would align their governance with the republican ideals of equality and citizen empowerment, setting a precedent for a unified cosmic narrative.

3. Endorsement of a Cosmic Republic: NATO should champion the development of a Cosmic Republic—a cooperative, billion-strong republican state uniting the peoples of NATO nations and beyond. This entity would assert freedom as the dominant cosmic narrative, countering any aspirations of monarchs or autocrats to establish a Galactic Empire.

4. Mobilization of NATO Peoples: We call on NATO to inspire its citizens to build this Cosmic Republic through education, innovation, and collective action, fostering a shared commitment to democratic governance in space and the advancement of human rights across the universe.

The expansion into space offers an unprecedented opportunity to redefine humanity’s future. A Galactic Empire, reminiscent of monarchical domination, would perpetuate inequality and control. In contrast, a Cosmic Republic would embody NATO’s core values, ensuring that freedom and justice prevail as humanity takes its place among the stars.


We respectfully request that NATO leadership, including the Secretary General and the heads of its member states, consider this petition and take concrete steps to align the Alliance’s policies with this vision.

Let NATO lead not only in defending Earth but in building a free and democratic cosmos - in the form of a Cosmic Republic.
