Nathan Lincoln Hecht is a distinguished American judge currently serving as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, Hecht has been a prominent figure in Texas's judicial system since first being elected to the Supreme Court in 1988. He has successfully secured reelection for multiple six-year terms, demonstrating his enduring commitment to justice and the trust placed in him by the electorate. Hecht was appointed Chief Justice by Governor Rick Perry in 2013 and took office on October 1 of the same year. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University. Beyond his judicial career, Hecht has served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps and was a partner at the Locke Firm.
