Joseph A. Pittman is an American politician and the Majority Leader of the Pennsylvania State Senate. A member of the Republican Party, he has represented the 41st district as a state senator since June 2019. Before becoming Majority Leader in 2022, Pittman served as chairman of the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee and vice chairman of the Senate Environmental Resources & Energy Committee. He was also involved with several important committees, including Appropriations, Banking & Insurance, Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure, and Judiciary. Additionally, he served on the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) Board of Directors. Pittman began his political career as Chief of Staff to State Senator Don White. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University and a diploma from Purchase Line High School.
