Jimmy Blacklock is an esteemed American attorney and judge, currently serving as a justice on the Texas Supreme Court. A member of the Republican Party, Blacklock has had a distinguished career in both legal practice and public service. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from Yale University. His career includes significant roles such as Deputy Attorney General for Legal Counsel and Assistant Solicitor General at the Texas Attorney General's Office. He has also served as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice and as a Law Clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Additionally, Blacklock has practiced law at Vinson and Elkins.
